“My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love.” Colossians 2:2
Carol taught high school English and journalism for 17 years before leaving the classroom to become a library media specialist. After 30 years in secondary education, God led her from Jay, Oklahoma to Claremore, where she currently resides. She is the mother of two grown sons, Casey and Clint.
Carol has worn many hats during her lifetime but the one she cherishes the most is that of “Nana” to five beautiful grandchildren—Cheyenne, Brennan, Cash, Leah and Luke.
Although she has been a freelance writer for major magazines and had essays and stories published in numerous anthologies, her passion is using her writing gift to glorify the Lord. Her weekly faith-based column, A Matter of Faith, runs in 12 Oklahoma newspapers and can be read each week at http://www.thecypresstimes.com/. You can also subscribe to her weekly column by emailing her at carolaround@yahoo.com.
Her weekly column has inspired over 200,000 readers since it first debuted in November 2005. Her columns, now collected and published in two volumes, reflect on everyday experiences to encourage readers to seek a deeper relationship with the Lord. Using simple stories of faith, and sometimes humor, Carol helps her readers to see new wonders of living through our Lord, Jesus Christ. Her down-to-earth sharing of real life and her Christian walk are woven into every piece she creates.
Carol launched her blog, A Matter of Faith, last spring where readers can find more inspiration in their walk with the Lord. She welcomes reader comments and may be reached through email at carolaround@yahoo.com or through her blog at www.carolaround.com.
